Absa website redesign
Role: Design project lead, Ux strategist and project management
We undertook a complete redesign of the Absa website, which involved developing a comprehensive design system, upskilling the team to manage the demands of maintaining it, and creating a detailed project plan for the design process.

Our team, which included designers, copywriters, and project managers, adopted a phased approach to the release. We successfully achieved key milestones, and the work that has gone live reflects those accomplishments.
Rand Merchant Bank - Exports and Imports
Role: Senior Ux and Ui designer, User researcher and Ux strategist
The letters of credit system for commercial businesses was outdated, difficult to use, and only a small number of users were proficient with it. Despite its challenges, the system was a key selling point for industries like raw material suppliers and car dealerships, who relied on it for their import and export operations.
To address these issues, we conducted extensive user testing and research to gain a deeper understanding of the market, ultimately redesigning the product to better meet their needs
Leadership development and mentorship programs
Role: Mentor, coach, and program creator/coordinator
During my time at Absa, I co-created a leadership and management program for designers aspiring to move into management roles. This initiative helps position the business for growth by identifying internal leadership potential and creating succession opportunities.

Additionally, I have mentored new graduates across various organisations, guiding them from junior to design lead roles. This experience has allowed me to foster growth in emerging talent and improve my ability to lead junior team members effectively.
Freelance Projects: Ux/Ui, User Testing & Workshops
Predominantly app based utilising new technologies and systems
My primary motivation for taking on freelance projects is to gain exposure to new technologies in the startup space and venture-funded apps. I've had the opportunity to work on various conceptual projects, as well as others that went live, which taught me how to bootstrap an app from the ground up.

I also built design systems and interfaces from scratch, significantly accelerating the development process. We also conducted workshops and user testing sessions at local coffee shops to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Design workshops and sprints
Conducting design sprints and workshops
I have extensive experience running both virtual and in-person workshops. What sets my workshops apart is my ability to practically apply the Business Model Canvas, helping businesses unlock their full potential.

I've facilitated a range of workshops, including Sprints, service design alignment, persona mapping, journey mapping, and more. I see design workshops as a powerful tool for rapidly aligning businesses with their users' goals.
